Outdoor living dominates a 1991 Lake Conroe waterfront property in Montgomery. The log cabin’s interior, at least, didn’t rate many photos in the listing that appeared last week. There are, however, plenty of shots of canines in repose (top). The compound occupies 7.4 acres of a peninsula north of FM 1097 near the Grand Pines Country Club and Bentwater; a slice of San Jacinto National Forest is just across the water. The property has a $2.25 million asking price. It last changed hands in 1999, for $698,750.

Inside the not-so-rustic home, the 2,624-sq.-ft. layout is said to include an open floor plan with master bedroom downstairs and a loft. There are 2 or 3 secondary bedrooms, a wood-burning fireplace, and a detached 2-car garage (with 2 golf carts).

Updates include wooden flooring and some kitchen tweaks to appliances and countertops (above). A flashy glimpse of the planked-up powder room is the only other interior space appearing in the listing. (There are also 2 full bathrooms.)

The property includes an estimated 330 ft. of lake frontage:

  • now THIS is my idea of lake living – no awkward lawn, no improbable palms, only the logs themselves present high-maintenance…
    And love the pooches!
This is a special property. And boating north from here you won’t find bulk-headed properties and all the associated choppy water. Now, if only Lake Conroe would stay FULL!

  • We bought an amazing property on the water in Conroe and now is the time if you ever want one on this lake.
