The high beams are on — and so are a lot of tilted-grid details — at a 1999 custom home in the Indian Trail neighborhood of Memorial. Double-pane windows, interior paint, and a few other tweaks since its March 2014 change of hands, at $1.674 million, have prepped it for a New Year’s re-debut that’s asking $1.895 million. The meticulously clipped property has Chimney Rock Rd. as a side neighbor to its slightly bulbous lot on a cul-de-sac cross street located north of Woodway Dr.

The front door is dwarfed by the foyer (above), in which a bedecked and vaulted ceiling rises 20 ft. above tile flooring and marble steps.

Throughout the 4,484-sq.-ft. floor plan, few surfaces play it straight. Pass-throughs to adjacent rooms, for example, feature decorative pilasters with Corinthian caps.

Arches appear in the upper registers of family room shelving and above the window looking over the back yard, located on the north end of the 13,449-sq.-ft. lot:

The dining room off the foyer has triple windows on 2 sides:

The other front room holds the study, with built-in shelving, a sturdy cast-stone fireplace, dark paneled walls in a rubbed finish, and parquet flooring of oak and mahogany.

Beams (called “antique” in the listing) intersect a pick-up-sticks grid above the island kitchen and breakfast nook (also pictured at the top of the story):

Direct access to the patio, pool, and yard is through a door featuring another diamond collection:

One of the home’s 5 bedrooms is downstairs. Upstairs is this master suite, with recessed tic-tac-toe ceiling trim:

A few decorative rib-stickers also crop up in the room over the garage:

None of the secondary bathrooms — there are 4 of them — appears in listing photos.

The wooden cabana at the far end of the pool (by a neighboring home) contains this outdoor kitchen:

Driveway access is from the slightly winding street that hooks a bit around the fully-fenced property:

  • Swamplot: For t hose of us in the know -This home is located in TANGLEWOOD,not Memorial . The 77056 ZIP code is a clue . As is being located north of Woodway Dr. puts it firmly in Tanglewood.

  • @Padraig so what do you consider the boundaries of the neighborhood of memorial?
