I have been away on vacation and missed out on last week's game. Quite honestly, my VERY first instinct after looking at a couple of those photos was Oak Forest. However, I'm not sure if I would have stuck with that answer or not.

Sooooo...since my first guess would have WON last week, I'm going to use my first one again, even though I'm thinking it's not correct. Some aspects of this house remind me of a semi-custom house that my aunt & uncle had in Mission Bend years ago. While I don't think that's necessarily the right answer, I had to at least give it a chance.

My other guesses would be somewhere in the suburbs, the nothern suburbs I think (Kingwood, Atascosita, Humble). While there are at least a couple of Meyerland guesses, I really don't think it's there. It's just too ugly. (My apologies to the homeowner!) Oh, and the bathroom, it reminds me of one I have seen in a Fredericksburg rental. It was some old building in town that was used like a bed & breakfast. For some reason, I found it charming there. Not so much here.

Okay, after thinking long and hard about this, I have to say "Meyerland." I get a strong Meyerland vibe from the mod-1960s aspect of the house in terms of its architecture (the weird-for-the-sake-of-being-weird angles), its size (looks to be pretty large) and pool. Something built when Meyerland was still swinging and a popular place for families to live.

I'm guessing from the kitchen that it was updated sometime in the 1980s, then resold to whoever owns it now. And clearly whoever owns it now can't be that interested in selling it, or else they'd get their stupid stuffed animals off the master bed and paint that hideous pass-thru wall, among many other things. Blech.

Wait -- wait -- I've got it!

It's the long-lost bachelor pad of Michael Pollack!
Forget har.com -- this place is historic and should be listed by Sotheby's International Properties.

Oh. My. God. Where to start?

The low ceilings peg it as a redo. It might be a trick of the light, but it appears that you can see highrises out one of the windows.

That bathroom really creeps me out. A bathroom should feel private, not like a locker room at 24-Hour Fitness.

All the wood paneling and leather chairs in every room and not a hint that any woman ever lived there? And the cowboy boot hanging from the kitchen ceiling?

Ye gods, I'm going to have to agree with Joni and say this place is walking distance to the Ripcord and the BRB.

Coming in late and how can I possibly top the comments above? I have no earthly idea where this could be, but I sure hope its not in my neighborhood.

The first few pictures had me thinking LOFT, but then the ceilings are way too low and once the kitchen photo scrolls up, that idea was totally trashed. Where does that pass-through in the blue wall of the LR actually go??

This house has to be 60's or 70's vintage, but the decor is definitely more recent, and more regrettable!

ok, this seemed really easy to me (sure - I've been horribly wrong each week!) - but Montrose came to mind immediately. This has the be the fugliest house yet shown. It looks like a swimming pool is outside the windows. But the decor: Those media chairs!!! omg - what a joke! they need to hire me to help with the interior design, wait - on second thought, don't!! the real question should be - who would buy this ????? And what's with all the stuffed animals on the master bed? a hippo??? OH WAIT - I just saw a monkey hanging in a potted tree!!! omg - who ARE these people? At least they are fit - lots of workout equipment. OK - this is Montrose for sure!

Oogly, oogly, oogly...love those saloon doors to the his & hers lavatories so convenient to the hot-tub/fireplace disco fern bar love nest. Also the way the glossy-painted low ceilings and the slate floors have...the same texture! And those Euro-cheapo kitchen cabinets circa 1972...that yucky greenish paneling...those jazzily angled rooms...truly what an abomination this house is! And I can only venture a guess that it is somewhere in the Oort Cloud of overdone haciendas arcing 15 miles either side of Champions.

Yep, I can't be very original here. This kind of weirdness is very Meyer-Park-esque. Or maybe Meyerland or maybe Westbury. Low budget 60s modern, probably remuddled at least once by someone with more money than taste. I'm hoping that's the explanation for the paneled office. The bath is kinda interesting with its open shower, actually.

Eeee gads, that goofy bath looks like something you'd expect to find in a strip joint vip room out back. I could see something like this done back in the early 80's up around 1960 in like Greenwood Forest, or even in the Kingwood or Humble/Spring area. Another possibility could be the Katy Nottingham area that was built back around then.
