Good call, Flake - historicaerials shows the house there in 1964 (but looks newly built/not quite finished - hard to say).

Congrats, Brad! Finally, a house that doesn't remind you of an ex-girlfriend. :-)

Yes, JT, I agree with you on the dates. I'm going over to HistoricAerials.com to check out that lot. No dishwasher in a 1970's house? Impossible. And sad to say I had the same baths in my 1954 ranch.

Glad to see Mamaw DID have some dining room chairs - I wondered where they'd got to.

Interesting that HAR says its a 40K lot, HCAD says 20K (with no bill for the lot next door). Hmmm...all the houses around it were built in the 1950's- early 60's. Maybe the appraiser had a headache that day?

I totally agree with you MBSmith, I actually live in that neighborhood on about a half acre of land that's been in my boyfriend's family for 3 generations. Fortunately the neighborhood is not directly under a flight path - so the airplane noise is really not that bad. Helicopters are another story. The biggest sources of noise pollution besides the choppers are car stereos and celebratory gunfire. Those things aren't unique to my neighborhood, but the huge nicely wooded lot only 25 minutes from town (in traffic) definitely is.

I can't believe I didn't get this one right but I thought it was way older, too!

Cool if you don't mind a Southwest AIrlines 737 EEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEing over your back porch fourteen times a day.

Well I am still reeling from the fact this place was built in 1970. The exterior seems in keeping with that era but those baths and the adobe brick wall partition in the family room? All I can say is that whoever built this place was clueless as to the trends of the day. I had a 1955 Las Vegas Contemporary apartment on Mimosa Lane with the same design elements.
