It is sad to know two Houston landmarks soon will be gone. I have many memories of the St. Luke's Hospital built in 1954. When I worked at M. D. Anderson Hospital across the street, we office workers occasionally would have lunch in the St. Luke's cafeteria, which had excellent food. After dealing with cancer patients all day, it was refreshing to watch the new babies being taken home from St. Luke
s It also is sad to learn Twelve Oaks Hospital in the River Oaks area is out of business. A friend was a patient there following an auto accident, and I believe he received excellent care at Twelve Oaks.
