Where Trader Joe’s Is Landing in Westchase, Somewhere Between Whole Foods Market and Walmart

Royal Oaks Village II Shopping Center, Westchase, Houston

Here’s an aerial view of the Royal Oaks Village II shopping center, where the Houston area’s fifth Trader Joe’s is already under construction behind the Harvest Organic Grille. (That’s the unidentified pad-site restaurant at the top right of the shopping center, which is outlined in red.) There the new grocery store take its place among a spread of nearby food-shopping options along the south side of Westheimer, which include the Walmart Supercenter at W. Houston Center Blvd., the Chick-Fil-A and H-E-B at Kirkwood, and the Whole Foods Market at Wilcrest.

The official address for Trader Joe’s #431 will be 11683 Westheimer Rd., according to building permits identified by the Houston Business Journal‘s Roxanna Asgarian, as well as the store’s application with TABC for wine sales.

The store is being constructed in the parking area directly south of Harvest Organic Grille, in front of Kohl’s and southeast of P.F. Chang’s.

  • By fall, I may have nine grocers within two miles of home. Let the battle begin. I’m not sure all of you will survive. . . .

  • You omitted the Sprout’s at the center on the north side of Westheimer at Kirkwood—they have great
prices and love double ad Wednesdays. Have not been to Whole Foods since they opened!!

  • I believe the wrong location is shown. I thinks it the old Randall’s at southeast corner of Wilcrest and Westhiemer. They just started working on it.

  • TJ’s needs to build more inner city locations. Midtown, Heights, West U areas hello?! Looks like they only care to expand in the burbs.

  • @Fiona – The old Randalls is where Whole Foods is moving to (from their existing small store across Wilcrest). This TJ is a new build.

  • I am so excited! The location I visit on my lunch how is on San Felipe and Voss. I will now have access to the new one near my house! Loving It!

  • I’m so glad TJ’s coming to the Westside. Now, I can try the chicken patties that my Weight Watcher friends keep talking about. Welcome, Welcome! I will see you soon!!
