Awesome photo, Marc Longoria!
Those aren’t grain silos in the picture by Marc Longoria. They are the remnants of a concrete factory that was located here. The silos were used to store aggregate, cement, sand and other raw materials. There is a small piece of the dock still there in Buffalo bayou that led to the tunnels under the silos. The tunnel was used to prevent the materials getting wet during inclement weather. The silos are now owned by Buffalo Bayou Partnership and are directly across from Midway’s East River Project. I am selling the homes on N. Nagle right next to silos.
