Have you noticed how the news media REFUSES to report the actual vote count, but instead just state the percentage of votes for the bond issue? There is a reason ….. only ~150,000 votes were cast out of 2.3 million voters in Harris County. That represents nearly $20,000 in bond issuance for each yes vote cast. Pathetic.
@ Where are: No, the news media did not refuse to report the vote count. I found that information reported here

While I didn’t vote on the bond issue (honestly, why have a special election for that anyway?), I would have voted NO, because the flood control is nothing more than a huge give away to construction firms around here. Let’s see, they’re going to make the bayous wider and deeper, right? Why not use the money to demo or raise buildings that frequently flood? Seems more effective to me.
Leasing 1,800 acres for a solar farm is kind of disappointing. How many acres of parking lots do we have at IAH, Hobby, Reliant Stadium, Ellington Field, and countless shopping centers that could serve as solar farms, as well as shaded parking?
@Where are the voters: It’s all good. We know the non-voters are good for it.
The “flood control” program is a BIG FAIL !! Humans CANNOT triumph over Mother Nature. !! The flooding is getting worse and no amount of remedial building will “control / stop it” .
