Re: Arboretum Parking Charge
.
It is nice to know that communing with nature will cost you $1/hour ($5 daily max). While mellowing out in the glade, you can stress out about how your meter is running. That being said, I can zonk out on my couch for free. No time limit.
Given the choice between being in the vicinity of Wolf Brand Chili’s aftereffects while zokning out on his couch and paying a dollar an hour to park at the Arboretum, the answer is obvious.
TimP,
I am sure Shoup had a section about this in his book “The high costs of free parking”
As an Arboretum member, I’d be happy to add another $5 to my membership fee if it would make parking free. The grounds are beautiful and restorative and should be available to all, regardless of the ability to pay.
