Sugar Land I feel has screwed the pooch on the arts center and is only doubling down w/ this convention idea….. that is unless it feels that a town of <100,000 ppl can support 3 semi urban areas (Old Imperial Sugar area, Sugar Land towncenter, and now a Arts center / convention center). I don't. 2 would be nice but max.
If it were up to me, I would find a way to give FBISD city land out in Telfair and trade that for where their football stadium adjacent to the mall / town center.
That land could then be used for the convention center and hotel. It could have probably fit the art center, but that ship has sailed.
