The photos of the old theaters are gut wrenching. As a kid, I was fortunate to get to see movies at a restored Warner Bros theater. There was a sing a long with an organ and a cartoon before the main feature. 2001 A Space Oddyssey was stunning in 70 mm on a giant screen.
Wasn’t Magic Island closed long before IKE?
So many (good) headlines today, so little time.
Will have to do these in stages.
yeah I thought there was a (suspicious) fire at Magic Island.
.
I went there 25yrs ago and 10yrs ago and enjoyed it greatly both times times, though it didn’t seem well-maintained later. You went for the magic acts, not for the food, and it was fun. If it re-opens I’m sure I’ll go there again.
