Many of us who work in Midtown have been anxiously waiting for Retrospect to open and the location and designation of historical landmark was genius!
Much as the “Montrose” and “Heights” monikers have been used liberally to denote a wide swath of inner-loop Houston, the “Midtown” label seems to be spreading across anything vaguely not-downtown, not-Med-Center, not-really-Montrose (although I’ve seen “Midtown” on some Montrose properties).

The historical western boundary of the Third Ward was Main Street, which puts the corner of Almeda and La Branch in the Third Ward.
