So the Chase bank next to Waterworks is finally hitting the dust. Never did hear who bought the block or what they plan on doing with it….
For the W 19th Chase bank, they are tearing down the drive-thrus. They will be building the new bank there, then demolishing the existing building. Chase owned most of the block except the two small businesses.
Ownership records indicate that roughly the SE quarter of the block (from the corner of Nicholson up to and including the eastern-most of the two small buildings) remain in the hands of Chase. The other roughly 3/4 of the block, including the westernmost of the two small buildings at 529 W 19th, the current bank building and all of the 20th street frontage, has been transferred to another LLC.
That same LLC also appears to own the 1-story brick building catty-corner to the site, at the NW corner of Lawrence and 20th.
Correction: it’s the parking lot at the SW corner of 20th and Lawrence.
