Today being Martin Luther King Jr. Day and all, Swamplot is taking a breather, along with some but not all of you. Check back with us tomorrow and most days thereafter for continuing coverage of Houston real estate goings-on.

MLK Day Off
great image choice for today – some interesting history of the sculpture:

I never cared for the Broken Obelisk Memorial, it just never did much for me. It doesn’t instill awe or reverence. I no doubt feel MLK was a great man, but it’s annoying that they combined the Father of our Country and The Great Emancipator’s BD into one over arcing lame ass Presidents Day, that few even observe. I think all three deserve their own day, anything less is absurd.
Uhhhh ……someone sniffing glue much? President’s Day has been the third Monday in February for 40+ years. It has nothing to do with MLK Day.
Even on Swamplot’s day off, a stinkbomb from Shannon. Nice to know that there are some things we can count on.
Shannon pisses and moans about every goddamn thing on the planet. Ohhhhh this sunshine is too BRIGHT it just doesn’t do it for me. Broken Obelisk is a beautiful statue. The end.
I’m not a fan of Broken Obelisk, either, Shannon.
Did I say anything about there not bring a Presidents Day? You see people, the US used to observe both Lincoln and Washington’s BD, but now these two great Americans get to combine BD’s and share a day with all other Presidents, like the great Warren G Harding and Andrew Johnson. My argument has merit, so make arguments against it, but lose the indignation, I doubt any of you marched on Selma…..
The Broken Obelisk is quite beautiful. I’m a fan.
Guess it would be like designating all Shannon’s birthdays on one day. Can you imagine how Shannon Doherty would feel–she couldn’t be the uber b&%#h any longer.
She spells her name Shannen. At least get your insults, correct;)
I can’t help but notice the one fan of that stupid broken obelisk is….anonymous (nice move)
I find the Broken Obelisk quite impressive.
Well, Rod Stewart wears hot pants, so what does he know about an obelisk.
My Mamma named me.
