Re: 2308 Commonwealth (Avenue/Street).The bulldozer is on the lot-as of Wed.11/13/2013.I’ll preface my comments: I AM 100% pro-development,governed by sensible, neighborhood appropriate guidelines/rules/regulations/restrictions/et al.Per Swamplot’s Daily Demo Report the Commonwealth project will be an apartment complex consisting of 2 buildings.According to industry insiders it could/may/will be low rise apartment/condo buildings, with ingress/egress from Fairview. As traffic on Commonwealth would making entering/exiting more difficult. We’ll see what is built on this property. If it is built with the same quality/standards in their previous/current projects it’ll be a very nice development. Their Place des Vosges project is very well done. I almost bought there, save for the Four Leaf Place office towers due south blocking out the sun during the day. Audubon Hollow is coming along nicely. No ,I DO NOT work for,nor am I affiliated in any way with Butler Brothers. Of course, buyers are in the high end range of the market, but that is what one pays to get a structurally sound/high quality product in Houston’s “hot” market..
I love that little complex of buildings on Commonwealth. It was a little touch of Cape Cod in Montrose. Sad to see it go!
Is Mayberry Homes related to Altura Homes? Both are building in impossible to finance areas.
“.Per Swamplot’s Daily Demo Report the Commonwealth project will be an apartment complex consisting of 2 buildings”
No, the Daily demo report says a 2 building apartment complex is coming down. I see no mention of what will go up in its place, and Butler’s website doesn’t mention it either.
