Photo of Kolter Elementary School: HAR
Kolter’s kinda pretty with that roof pitch and canopy.
Kolter was flooded by Harvey. HISD is going to tear it down and rebuild an elevated school. Apparently Aramco donated a bunch of money to help with that.
The original Kolter has been in harmony with its mid-mod Meyerland neighborhood. Most likely, the new school building will be bigger and clunkier, like the post-flood new houses that have been going up in that area. Congruent in style and scale, but what a shame to lose the original feel and fabric.
