Very true. My former apartment complex in the Heights (a popular one) wanted to increase our rent from $1050 (Mar 2011) to $1400 (Jul 2012) on an 840 sqft 1 bedroom. We chose to purchase a home instead.

STOP BI/KI HIGHRISE
I just moved to the Heights to Beverly and 12th St. and found a 700 square foor apartment for 620 a month, damn cheap in that area. I moved from Houston House Apartments downtown and was paying 960 a month and after my lease was up they jacked the freaking price up to 1200 bucks a month!
