  • Would be nice if some of the vacant lots south of Polk were being built on instead of smack dab in the middle of everything.

  • Hopefully the “big announcement” isn’t 4-story apartments on the old Turnberry site. That would be a let down. haha

  • Given how much(little) we’ve done towards global warming, probably just easier to change the state flower to bastard cabbage.

  • Any development in town is good news but I really hope this is a high rise. . . But I have a feeling that this is going to be the apartments that they have planned for the Turnberry site.

  • Dominique wouldn’t say the name last night on the news, but she described the culprit to a T. She said the name was “nasty” and did not want to offend anyone.

If it’s good enough for the Lady Bird center, it’s good enough for me. And yes, I’ve seen pastures full of Bastard Cabbage and thought it was a pretty sight.

  • I skipped my usual wild flower trip to Washington county last year due to the drought. This year I was shocked to see how much the bastard cabbage had taken over roadsides that are usually full of a mix of bluebonnets and indian paint brush and other species. Instead, there is nothing but bastard cabbage. If bastard cabbage has been able to advance that much in two years, I would hate to see what will happen four and five years later.
