Odd that millennials are delaying buying a home, in some part, due to “delaying marriage” ?
.
I bought my first home way before I was married (and way before I was ready to be married). That was in my mid 20’s. I’m glad I did as 1/2 that loan is now paid off.
.
And yeah, the down payment sucked. But you just save and do it if it’s a priority.
.
(Ironically that loan was 30 year fixed at 5.875%. I can’t refi since I don’t qualify for a new loan due to how things are underwritten today. So even though I live here, have never missed a payment in over a dozen years, and my payment would go DOWN, I don’t qualify. Part of me wants to say “I don’t qualify for a new loan? So then I guess I don’t qualify for the loan I have right? So I should just not pay?”)
HBJ is such a joke. You don’t need 20% down to buy a home.
