This project is so poorly thought out with the interest of the Downtown Management District driving the bus off the cliff in order to gain 30 more acres of land. North Side, 5th Ward, and East End are getting royally screwed. Winners are downtown and Midtown.
The name P. Terry’s is evocative of the long gone T. Pittari’s restaurant… Clearly no relation but an interesting echo nevertheless.

A lot of this explanation of 45 is ridiculous. He compares Houston to New York, San Francisco, and Portland. These are three very densely populated cities with 2 being extremely small area-wise and one with a major subway system that is a total mess right now. Of course there are less highway fatalities in those cities, they basically do not have highways. He also says that highway lead to people escaping to the suburbs…..that already happened, and now people are moving back into the city.
There are a lot of problems with the new i45 plan, but the current i45 is a horrible mess that was not constructed properly and will probably be a major issue soon.
