This quarter-century-old Pontiac Fiero was pulled out of Lake Houston yesterday. It’s one of 2 cars recently discovered to have been parked in what used to be the lower depths of the Houston reservoir. One benefit of the drought: Since water levels at the lake have dropped by 6 1/2 to 7 feet, it’s now so much easier to find long-missing vehicles and other debris flavoring the city water supply. The 2-seater was a stolen sportscar believed to have been hanging out in the lake since 1990. Also found sleeping with the fishes near the lake bottom, according to HPD marine unit sergeant T.W. Harding: “tires, logs, all kinds of trash, beer cans beyond belief, a lot of soft drink bottles and beer bottles from the 1950s.â€

So that’s where it’s been!!
I wonder if my insurance company will try to resettle?
Ha, they pulled dozens of cars like this from Lake Travis a couple of years back when level of that lake started to drop. I wonder if they find a DeLorean, would it be in showroom condition since it’s stainless steel?
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he’s got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.
Oh thats where i left it!
That’ll buff right out.

Probably not–after all, the Fierro was fiberglass.
Is the water not clear enough were a few weekend volunteer scuba divers couldn’t cruise around and find some of this stuff along with a surface boat to hook it up to and haul it out?
.
I mean, seriously. I bet there are tons of divers that would go in and clean up that stuff. Might be kinda fun.
If I’m not mistaken, the fiero had a plastic or fiberglass body, so it actually may buff out after 20+ years underwater.
I paddle board this lake but only near the damn. Overall not a bad lake and there are some cool homes on it.
I wonder if Corey Hart is aware of this?

Haha looks like the peeled the roof off trying to lift it and then had to use the rear frame.
Dude where’s my car? My first car was a red 6 cylinder fiero, was a nightmare to drive on wet streets.. Lol good ol’ days..
And so what my name is corey too… :)
Betcha that engine is ruined. Its just begging for a V8 swap!
Although the Fiero had plastic body panels they covered a steel spaceframe which is just as prone to rust as any steel car. I’m surprised there is anything left of it. The body panels on the other hand are probably as good as new.
So… Are they going to put the parts up on eBay? ;-)
For the really ambitious, it’s now up for sale at Copart – http://www.copart.com/c2/individualLot.html?lotId=22353741&searchType=onSaleNow
Did they find Jimmy Hoffa?
