Awww…how sad… we lost an SOB (Gold Cup). It is getting so hard to find a place to view bodacious tatas nowadays.
290 is a totally different animal now, but back in the 90s, Gold Cup was always my marker that I was back “in Houston” when driving in from Austin.
I remember that building started out as a Gallagher’s Steak House before it became a different kind of meat establishment.
Heather, the Gold Cup served the exact same purpose for me back when I lived in Austin! I suppose it’s become obsolete in more ways than one. I dread the day the 290 corridor extends all the way to Brenham (Ã la Austin-San Marcos).
