Aldi Is Making Its Move at the Crowded Crossroads of Westheimer and S. Gessner

ALDI IS MAKING ITS MOVE AT THE CROWDED CROSSROADS OF WESTHEIMER AND S. GESSNER Aldi punched its ticket for entry into the Tanglewilde Center yesterday by filing a building permit to convert the closed 21,300-sq.-ft. Batie’s Ace Hardware at 9525 Westhimer into a supermarket.Â It’ll be the third grocery store within a 2,000-ft. radius of the intersection of Westheimer and S. Gessner Rd. My last count was 7 or 9 grocery stores (depending on definition) on 2 mile stretch of Westheimer, West of BW8.

I think The Randall’s store over at Woodlake Square could turn itself into a HEB.

That Randall’s is still a good performer, it would probably be one of the very last ones to close.

Great news! We live in the Briargrove area with six grocery stores within a 2 mile radius, but people will drive to shop at Aldi’s.
