  • I think it’s time for a moratorium on sego palms. If there is a bigger Houston landscaping cliche, someone enlighten me.

    You’ll have to make your nomination near the end of the year if that category is on the ballot.

    I’m waiting for bottle trees to run rampant.

  • I have to agree with PaulP on the sago palms. Ugly, sharp, highly toxic, and that cone-stalk thing they grow really stinks. Yet people plant them by the truckload. I’ll take a “crape murder” over these nasty buggers any day.

  • But I guarantee that a burglar will bypass your house if you have the palms near windows. They do not want to get stuck anymore than you do.

    Granted, it will be more difficult to clean the windows, but I’ll take that any day.

  • Doesn’t look bad, actually the palms and the surrounding monkey grass make the house charming. Anyone have a better alternative to the palms though?
