  • NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not the Peddie house. Why why why why why????? This is the Heights analog to the Simpson’s episode where Mr. Burns builds a machine that blocks out the sun for all of Springfield.

  • Oh my God! I noticed that they let the garden die (horrible enough) – but THIS? I see the writing on the wall – it is time to abandon the Heights to the depraved blood sucking developers. I’m done!

  • Blood sucking developers…and/or long time resident next door.

  • A 6,300sqft lot and no internal updating = kiss of death. I’m right around the corner from this home and loved driving by the garden. My condolences to the neighbors who are sure to get some giant, two-story, $1.5M Melissa Kubala/Bill Baldwin home in it’s place.

  • …Just like the monstrosity directly behind it on East 16th.

  • Shame on you Houston.

  • This would be a stellar AirBnB!
Tragic that the resident had to let it go. Go away. Gone forever. Ever and ever…

  • Just because you’ve been beautiful for years and years, doesn’t mean you won’t get euthanized when you have only 1 bathroom. Your owners next door are only interested in the inheritance big bucks you will leave behind.

  • And another thing, NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went by this morning and at least they are salvaging windows and not just letting the excavator have at it. But the garden has gone to weeds. I used to take out of town guests on walks to see the garden.

  • Nooooo!!!!!

  • The neighbor who bought it intended to rehab it and turn it into a rental property but the wood rot was significant. It was too far gone to make financial sense for them. Also, the last freeze killed the garden which took several hours a day to tend to, anyway. I miss the house, too, but this wasn’t just some greedy developer who came along with prior intent scrape it and put up a three story townhome in its place.
