A Swamplot reader in motion along 290 sends photos of the late-stage demolition in progress on Exxon’s former Brookhollow campus, now down to its last office building at 4550 Dacoma St. Tear-down began on the structure last July after a partnership connected to Fidelis Realty Partners and Williamsburg Enterprises bought the 24-acre property just outside the Loop the year prior with plans to build a retail center on the site. The ruined 254,566-sq.-ft. structure is one of 3 office buildings that once stood on the campus.

This is the slowest demo project I have ever seen.
Not as slow as the building on the 800 block of Dallas. I swear they’ve been tearing that thing down for almost a year and a half…..
Drew, the 800 block of Dallas was torn down floor by floor so they could preserve the parking garage. They are now cementing the rough edges on the rooftop. I get a great view and had to listen to the jack hammers for 2 years. So nice and quite now except for the occasional car horn and emergency vehicle siren.

More retail…Like the long mostly abandoned NW mall just across the way. The process is so slow i thought it was a one person operation.
