In other news, demolition has finally started on the pile of rubble that used to be the Southwest Inn. Not a moment too soon!

I’m absolutely tired of hearing people speak breathlessly (online and on TV) about the cupcake ATM. I’d imagine the folks that will wait in line for this thing won’t notice when passers-by mock and ridicule them. ‘murica waistlines and all that.
ref “Cupcake ATM”….. all I can say is WTF?
While in general like these TIRZs, there seem to be a ton of them now-a-days. What happens when the whole city is TIRZ’ed and the city has a ceiling on its taxes?
Why no Salad ATMs or Grilled Chicken Breast ATM’s? My objection is not necessarily to the ridiculousness of a Cupcake ATM but the fact that cupcakes are disgusting, it’s the lowest form of baked goods.
Sorry UH, homeless people figured out how to reuse office supplies for off-grid, temporary housing a long time ago. Not only does their system let you hear what’s going on in the environment without expensive sensors and solar panels, but it also biodegrades after its useful life. The only thing it doesn’t have is a cool architecture-y name, but we can fix that. Maybe… Kardboard-boKs!
I like the TIRZ idea in theory because it forces the City to spend at the neighborhood level although it is subject to corruption and pet projects on that same level.
And the cupcake ATM; ha..as more and more people realize that what they drop down that intake hole known as a mouth matters a bunch, new marketing gimmicks will keep popping up to sell junk food.
We will see marijuana atm’s in the next 15 years.
commonsense quote “…the fact that cupcakes are disgusting, it’s the lowest form of baked goods.”
Hey, be careful…let’s no say anything you can’t take back!….
