  • I’m really looking forward to the new Memorial Park Running Center, it’s long over due. The Tennis Center Building Locker Rooms were very dated, I never bothered to use them, but I think this new center will really get used. In the summer it’s nice to shower after a run so as not to get into your car sweating all over everything. The Memorial Park running trail is one of the city’s gems and it’s actually known all over the country as a premier jogging trail (thanks Bush Sr), it’s awesome that it now will have a running center worthy of the Trail.

  • 11681 Westheimer Rd There have been a good amount of restaurants here and they all usually seem to put up a lot of work in the building before opening. All have closed. Most of them pretty quickly. Seems like a good location.

  • The location 3801 BELLAIRE BLVD., at the corner of Bellaire @ Braes Blvd., is working its way onto Houstonia’s Worst Restaurant Location list.

Originally built as an Eckerd’s Drugs in the 1940s, the location was turned into a restaurant called The Starfire Grill in 2005.  The Starfire Grill had to get special permission from Southside to completely rebuild the side of the building to create an outdoor patio — the sidewalk and sewer line had to be rebuilt to allow for the patio.  Very rarely do I see  people eating out there.

Since then, the location has been known as:  The Sweet Mesquite, The Terlingua Border Cafe, and is now a Molina’s.  Four different eateries in 8 years.  That’s pretty sad.

  • @Nik And what…you think Molina’s is going somewhere..?
Maybe you’re not from that area, but we used to have a Molina’s on Buffalo/Bissonet intersection…t’was a very very popular place. Molina’s isn’t going anywhere.
