So with the city listing “more crews needed” as one of the primary reasons for delays on the Shepherd Dr. work it’d be interesting for an economic student at UH or Rice to compare the cost of sales tax revenue losses & impacts to local businesses against that of cost for the city to hire more crews and get the project back on schedule.
.
I honestly can’t wait for them to start tearing up allen parkway on the west side while they still have shepherd drive screwed up. The mess will be hilarious.
.
Anyone notice an increase in pollutants around the area due to the heavy machinery & stop & go car traffic though?
How long until you come back?
The contractor on the Shepherd drive project is supposed to pay a $10k a day penalty for being late. So that would be around $1.2 million if they finish by year’s end. It seems like they’d hire a few more people .
