It looks like the former Discount Liquor is getting sobered up and converted into a restaurant. Permit documents hanging on that plywood indicate that the 1965 1,440-sq.-ft. corner store at 4902 Almeda will be transformed into a “take-out restaurant” to be named the Maxwell Street Grill — though it’s near the corner of Almeda and Rosedale.

So that’s why it’s a take-out restaurant …. they can’t deliver since they don’t even know where they are located.
The name Maxwell Street implies something Chicago-y. There’s a few Maxwell Street Grills in that area. Could be fun!
YES!!!!!!
I walked by here the other day. Almeda has a lot of potential. Some accomodations for pedestrians would be nice. An esplandade? I see a lot of bicyclist riding the road every time i eat at Green Seed. Maybe bike lanes too?
Ummm what is a “takeout” restaurant – something like the Church’s inside Fiesta?
Someburger?
Sweet. I’m betting that this area of Almeda gets improved. So many inexpensive places to buy and rent.
