I guess different people have very different views of what hip/cool is. It wasn’t very long ago when Houston topped the Coolest city in the U.S. ranking, but it’s also one of the least hip? I wouldn’t think that a city could be really cool but not very hip.

Houston is where the hipsters in Austin end up when they’re tired of making $9/hour and suddenly remember that their bachelor’s degree is actually good for something. I speak from experience…

I dunno, @Anse. There are a lot of gleaming condos downtown and mansions in the hills that suggest plenty of folks are doing just fine in Austin, too.
