DUNKIN’ DONUTS WON’T OPEN MONTROSE LOCATION FOR ANOTHER WEEK You might have read here or here that the first one to open inside the Loop of those 24 new Dunkin’ Donuts locations would be ready tomorrow at the former Arby’s on the corner of Fairview and S. Shepherd. Well, it won’t be. A company rep writes in an email that the S. Shepherd team won’t be making (or selling) the donuts until next Monday, July 22. A grander opening will follow on July 30. (You can head to the new one in Westchase if you can’t wait.) [29-95; Eater Houston; previously on Swamplot] Photo: Swamplot inbox
Since when did S Shepherd become “Montrose”??
I’m more worried about the traffic at this location than the exact opening date. Unless they’ve made big changes in the renovation, the old Arby’s drive-through location was terrible for getting access onto Shepherd when exiting… you can only turn (right)to the south, but someone always insisted on turning (left) and clogging traffic for some distance. Has anyone driven by this location to see if that’s changed? If not, I’m expecting this location to become a steady red dot on the morning traffic report maps.
I’ll wait for a long time : as in forever. Dunkin Donuts are the McDonald’s of donuts. There are better donuts emporiums available.
Shepherd is the border for Montrose neighborhood any one in the know would realize that.
So they have been open for about a week now. They need to get the iced coffee recipe down….still a little hit or miss. But they are ONLY 99 cents from 3 to 6 pm (actually I got one at 6:30 Saturday.,,,, Ding Ding)
