Fleet Feet Sports Now Up and Running in Neal & Company’s Abandoned Antique Store on the Corner of Greenbriar and Bissonnet

The 1950 building at 4502 Greenbriar formerly home to the Neal & Company antique shop has been taken over by Fleet Feet Sports. The running gear retailer bought the building — last renovated in 2005 — just under 2 months ago. Shortly before the sale, Fleet Feet closed its nearby store in Rice Village — on the north side of Rice Blvd. next to Tea Bar and Organics.

Head-in parking now fronts 2 sides of the Greenbriar location — as opposed to just one at the old Rice Village store:

  • Neal & Co Antiques only “abandoned” the building after Fleet Feet purchased it. After 15 years on the corner, weathering two economic downturns and a changing attitude toward antiques, we decided to consolidate all of our businesses under one roof at our 60,000 sqft facility on Mitchelldale. Antiques are now housed with other vital entities: custom crafted furniture (to the trade) and Neal & Co Interior Design. The phone number is the same as it was all those years (713) 942-9800. Best by appointment.

  • Yes, and just to set the record straight, we did not close our Rice Blvd. location before or at the time of the purchase of the Greenbriar property. Our last day of business there was Sunday, we moved Sunday night, and opened for business at the new location Monday. Thanks.
