This metal-sheathed warehouse at 2032 Karbach St. in the industrial area off Dacoma St. near Dyer Stadium used to be home to craft and imported beer distributor C.R. Goodman. Now a bunch of former Goodman employees have transformed it into the Karbach Brewing Company brewery — which held its inaugural tour over the weekend. Among the commitments of Karbach and its brewer, former Flying Dog CEO Eric Warner: Keeping their 5 craft brews in metal. Karbach beers are available only at area bars and restaurants so far (delivered in kegs by the company’s single delivery truck); starting in January 3 of them should be available for purchase in aluminum cans, too.

I tried a Wiesse Versa last weekend. OK, but not enough to make me switch. But I’ll give the other brews a try as well.
I’m just excited about another brewer in town, and especially one that seems to like hoppy beers.
Did they take over the old st. arnold warehouse?
Wow – the Houston local beer scene is starting to get competitive – 8th wonder is making strides too –

It’s a few blocks from the old St. Arnold’s building.
The lager and pale are both pretty hoppy. The weisse/versa is interesting.
Flying Saucer has them, Stag’s Head has em, Christian’s Tailgate on white oak has em.
I like a good beer, but all these microbreweries seems to follow the bitter, hoppy path. Can’t someone try a sweet, dark German beer?
Yes, SL, yes. Please something nice and malty. IPAs are devil seed.
