Lonely at the Top

LONELY AT THE TOP Metro president George Greanias will receive a “more stringent punishment” than normal for his first-time offense: viewing “sites of a sexual nature” on his personal computer, using the transit agency’s internet connection. Board chairman Gilbert Garcia praised Greanias’s performance in improving “transit services, morale, and community relations” in his 15 months on the job but said “the community must have confidence that the New Metro will be open and transparent.” Greanias will be suspended from his job for the next week without pay. • You have got to be kidding me. Dispand the entire organization as it’s apparent that it is cursed.

Most legit organizations have controls to prevent these sites from being accessed in the first place.

Not only is Metro corrupt, the city planners are inept. Looks at the mess downotown. La Branch, Fannin, Main St. Bridge, Smith, all under constructoin at the same time putting a stranglehold on downtown mobility.

Why must I be surronded by idiots?

  • More to the point, what type of
    pornographic sites was George
    visiting? What’s his kink?

  • buttercookie – if you want to see the list of sites just click the link.

  • Another example of the protected government class, surf for porn at NASA, SEC or Metro and get a slap on the wrist, do it in the private sector and you’re on the street w/ a reference limited to “would not re-hire”.

  • OMG, how embarrassing.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Into the boys, are we?

  • Not just porn, gay male escort sites…

  • At least he’s manning up (pun intended) and admitting to his mistake.

  • He was probably just examining possible streamlined shapes for future Metro train designs.

  • Reesman, I clicked to see the sites and, oh my, not that there’s anything wrong with it…

  • They must have originally thought his searches for cream pies was innocent enough, he must be baking something, little did they know. Lol, I feel sorry for anyone required to use his keyboard and mouse now..

  • This is just truly awful. Others have already said what needs to happen here, so I won’t waste words, but this couldn’t be more timely given my other recent Swamplot rants on “the New METRO’s” same old problems.

It’s one thing–shameful enough–to look at porn on company time, but to look up ‘escorts’ should be a terminable offense.

HP’s CEO was brought down for false allegations of sexual misconduct–here we have a case of confirmed sexually inappropriate behavior, and all the guy gets is a slap on the wrist.

Another smirch on your disappointing record, Ms. Parker.

  • Who did George piss off??

  • Now the likeness to the Simpson’s MR. BURNS becomes even more apparent!

  • >here we have a case of confirmed sexually >inappropriate behavior

It’s not sexually inappropriate, it’s inappropriate to do while at work. That’s his transgression, and he will be punished for that.

Sexually–it’s just porn. If he had the brains to do it at home, it would be none of our business.

  • And as our CEO found out, don’t open those e-mails that say “BRITNEY SPEARS NAKED!” Spoofed every address in the company, all branches.

    *snicker*

Whoops. You totally got me there… That’s what I meant to say. His home, his rules.

However, looking up ‘escort’ websites begs the question of prostitution, which the under the law is illegal, if not inappropriate.
