I thought that was strange, too. But I figured if Houston can have a Bataan Rd., Porter can have a Kolyma Dr. So I looked at the map wanting to see if there were other streets there named after infamous prison camps. But they’re mostly named after rivers: Elbe, Moselle, Ganges, etc. The Kolyma River is not the first thing that comes to mind when I see the word “Kolyma,” but it was a river long before the gulag so it fits.
Kolyma? Americans have minimal knowledge of the Gulag, so I guess it’s just kinda funny.
@Gisgo, I caught that too, but didn’t think anyone else would.
The bear was legally hunted, harvested, then eaten. They’re delicious, just like deer, elk. etc etc
