SAN ANTONIO AND DALLAS MOVING CLOSER For those of you who obey speed limits on interstate highways — or even just adjust your cruising speed accordingly — the drives to San Antonio and Dallas just got a little shorter. The Texas Transportation Commission today approved a 5mph bump-up in the speed limit along stretches of I-10 and I-45 North well outside city limits. The new 75mph speed limit will also go into effect on more than 1,500 miles of highway throughout the state — but only after the signs are changed. [Texas Politics] Photo: TxDOT
so can i get a refund on all the speeding tickets I’ve gotten on I-45?
Why not 80?
#TheNiche – don’t worry, folks will be doing at least 80 after the signs go up!
most people are doing 85 on IH 10 so this now only a less expensive ticket.
Now we have a good reason to upgrade 290 and 59 to designated interstate highways.
Good. If weather is good it should be 80.
I think we are still under the EPA “adjoining counties” 65 MPH limit. So even though I-10 is 75, it’s still 65 until you clear Waller County. The story says “Katy”, but that is not accurate.
I hope I’m wrong, as the EPA limit is horse-crock.
awesome, now my grandma can fear for her life anymore.
not anymore, even more of course.
During our West Texas New Years vacation I was excited to see the 80 mph signs past San Antonio. The glee didn’t last long. I couldn’t have gone any faster — it felt like I was barely in control of the car
Gotta use the right tool for the right job. Quite a few cars shouldn’t be driven at that speed.
Signs are up.
Glad to see it.
Slower traffic keep right.
