The crane at 2727 Kirby is coming down today and tomorrow, reports a reader who’s been watching the construction.
A larger version of this up-to-date photo showing the incredible shrinking construction crane — and a rendering of the completed condo tower — are waiting for you after the jump.

How it’s supposed to end up:
What cute little front feet!

I’m happy those “cute little front feet” are there. It does show the architect looked at the previous building. it had the same little front feet!
You know how some people have really ugly babies but you tell them that their kid is cute anyway?
One of my favorite buildings going up at the moment in terms of exterior design and the units themselves. Will be a pleasure to visit friends there when they move in next year!
MRS. ATLAS YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB,GOOD LUCK. ALSO HOW ABOUT DOING ANOTHER BUILDING TALLER MAY BE DOWNTOWN HOUSTON NEED A 1ST CLASS RESIDENTAL HI-RISE 40-50 FLOORS OR MIDTOWN 3000 BLOCK MAIN TRAVIS 2727 KIRBY GREAT IDEA & NAME YOU PUT THAT LOCATION ON THE MAP GREAT CONCEPT.
I bet he would have put it downtown if it was warranted. But there’s more for residents to access from this location. Also, it puts the residents with easy access to 4 major employment centers. Downtown couldn’t do that.
This is the reason the area south I-10, north of US 59, west of Midtown, and east of the West Loop is such a prime location for increased density.
I’m looking forward for 2727 Kirby to be finish, it will be a beautiful building. With the construction of Kirby, it will make the Upper Kirby District more desirable.
funny how the plans change from orig drawing to final offering
