This 2004 custom home with broad shoulders settles into 3 acres of land south of Spencer Hwy. in La Porte. It’s a Mediterraneanish spread that seems to have a thing for columns, posts, and pillars. A year ago, it debuted on the market at $749K, dropping slightly to $745K in May 2014 and $739K in February 2015. A week ago, a relisting by the same agent kept that final price point.

In the master suite, vertical underpinnings flank the spa bath area:
Even the glass bricks of the shower stall take on a columnar form:
The back patio’s colonnade, meanwhile, frames the property’s poolscape and grounds:
The single-story home includes a game room with seating area and a wet bar located beneath a supported arch:
All 3 bedrooms stack back their ceilings; here in the master suite . . .
and here in the 2 secondary bedrooms:
The pool’s watercolor glow changes colors at night:
Here’s a similar pool view by daylight:
To reach the stocked pond on the property, use the handy network of pathways and bridges:

Things get pretty interesting real quick on a streetview tour of the neighborhood
@Bentony is correct. What exactly is that across the street? A retention pond? Looked at both the streetview and satellite views and couldn’t make it out. Either way, living in La Porte doesn’t exactly tell the world you make good decisions…no matter how nice your house is.
That spa bath set-up makes a cartoon face with those fake greenery “eyebrows”.
Sally what an astute observation – thanks for the chuckle!
