CHICKEN OUT TONIGHT ON MEMORIAL DR. Hybrid Peruvian-Mexican restaurant Pollo Bravo will be flying the coop at 5 PM — the Memorial Dr. and Reinicke St. location will close permanently this evening. The chain’s remaining 2 locations on Hillcroft and Richmond will remain open, and the owner is currently looking for a new space to roost. The locale, which previously housed Hartz Chicken Buffet, converted to a Pollo Bravo by the end of 2012. An LLC connected to developer Amir Taghdisi purchased the property in May, adding to his existing holdings a few blocks west across the street; his strip center at 5801 Memorial Dr. currently houses a Dunkin’ Donuts and Piada Italian Street Food. Photo: Google Places
This place was soooo good
Dang it. I love this place.
Dang it! What a bummer! Where will I go to get salchi-papas and plantains for my kids now? The food is good, price is reasonable, and the ladies working there always pleasant!
Pollo Bravo means “brave chicken”. You have to be brave to eat at a place like that.
Pollo Bravo is delicious! I”m very sad – one of the few affordable, delicious and (at times) nutricious options in the area. Great Pisco Sours, fabulous chicken + green sauce… I hope they open up somewhere soon.
This, combined w/ the recent closure of Te House of Tea is most a most bleak harbringer of 2016 :(
crushing
Gus Fring is not pleased.
Certainly the best place to eat in this neighborhood. Such a shame. And, I thought business had been better lately.
Wow!!! That is a shame! I picked up did from there frequently. I work nearby and it was very convenient delicious and tasty food I don’t affordable price. I am sorry to see it go! I hope they’re able to find a location nearby.
I wonder if the adjacent apartment building is for sale. That lot would be prime for development of a nice residential or mixed use development. Currently it looks slightly in disrepair. Thoughts?
