Grotto Magic: The Seventies Party Castle Where Gleannloch Farms Began

Yes, the pool grotto connects directly to the master bedroom of this $2.4 million party estate, if you had to ask. “Long before there was a subdivision called Gleannloch Farms, there was a ranch there called Gleannloch Farms where they raised Arabian horses,” explains a reader who claims to know something about this property. “I am 99% sure that this listing is actually the original house for the ranch. HCAD shows it as built in 1979, which would predate the subdivision by about 20 years, so I guess it would have to be.” You’re looking at the home’s “grand ballroom” above, which faces the front motor court. Also on the 6-acre grounds: a tennis court, a pond with spurting fountain, a detached 8-car garage, a guest house turned into an exercise gym, a separate gameroom building with a summer kitchen, and an actual outdoor pool you can use if this skylit indoor one starts to fester:

Here’s that standalone gameroom building:

And a punching bag where the guest house used to be:

Drive on up for a tour!

The listing counts 5 to 7 bedrooms, 6 full- and 2 half-baths, and 9,659 sq. ft. of living space. This property has been on the market for almost 4 weeks.

Makes you wonder out of all of the statues a person could buy why did they go with that one.

Amazing. I think this house belongs to TTBoy. Beautiful property.

    It is so beautiful . . . . probably a
    family (very wealthy) from Monterrey
will buy . . . we have not enough money
    here in U.S.

Kind of love it even though my idea of ‘enough room’ is well under 2000 sq ft. With 6 acres its a bargain as a starter family compound though. Also, same thought on the statue – huh?

This looks pretty cool, and I’ll never look at a curtsy the same way. Too bad I’ve never seen a curtsy outside of Scottish dance festivals and the Sound of Music.

Miss Statue is not lifting UP her skirt, she’s holding it out on both sides, like a young girl might do before twirling around. Pervs.
