H&M IN HOUSTON: ALL IN THE MALLS Swedish clothing retailer H&M is in talks to lease space at the Galleria, in the Memorial City Mall, and The Woodlands Mall for its first 3 Houston-area locations, leasing-agent sources tell Heather Staible. According to the timetable given to her, the Galleria location would be the first to open — in early 2012. [Culturemap; previously on Swamplot]
I’m betting the old Barnes and Noble or possibly Borders at the Galleria,
I’m betting that both those spaces are too big.
I am betting that the Borders location does not have to be two stories.
This is great for the Houston area!
We are excitedly discussing the replacement of bookstores with clothing stores (no matter how generic the former or how euro-cool the latter)… I’ve been rooting for an H&M in Houston for years, but I never thought it would be moving in to the empty shells of half the city’s booksellers. This is sad.
well just wait a couple years for people to de-fund the libraries and you’ll soon be able to go shop at the Freed-Montrose Apple store or something.
Why is this great for the Houston area?
Almost as horrendous as American Apparel.
The reason this is great for Houston is that it IS.
H&M sucks now…i’ve been hearing for years from other people around the country how the quality has been in serious decline. I think many will flock there at first because of the name but eventually, they’ll probably catch on.
On the other hand, I can’t WAIT till Trader Joe’s finally gets here!!!

Hey right here is a site plan for blvd place and one of there main anchors is H&M also alot of other stores including Nike Ralph Lauren and so many more what do u think??
Memorial City, please. At least, don’t have it in that traffic disaster called Highland Village. I frequently used to shop Crate and Barrel before they moved to that location. Now I just use the website, if I shop it at all now. Williams Sonoma has better locations. I prefer in person.
