A poster on HAIF has leaked this rendering that might show what Southwestern Energy is planning to build to consolidate its employees in Springwoods Village. It was first reported to be a 10-story office building on 22 acres at I-45 and the future Grand Pkwy., just south of the ExxonMobil campus.

The leaked drawings show the 10-story office building linked to a 7-story parking garage. Houston Business Journal reports that the complex could total 500,000 sq. ft.:

If that is indeed the building, I like it. All that activity around the Exxon-Mobil campus really will make for some serious real estate speculating, could this stretch of 1-45 supplant the Katy Freeway as the Energy Corador in the future–I’m doubting it—I’d much rather live in Memorial and work in that area than the Spring/Woodlands area, it’s just too far from the cool areas of Houston, i.e., The Museum District, Galleria Area, Montrose, The Theater District et.al
this is a spec building I believe
Good thing their an energy co, it’s going to take a lot of it to keep tht building cool with all that glass, it’s going to be quite beautiful at night!
John it is a built to suit building so Southwestern Energy will be the sole occupant.
Both wondrous and frightening to speculate: what’s to happen with the local economy when technology neither can discover new reserves nor extract any more fossil fuels? This 150-200 years comes in an eyeblink in human history.
We will never run out of oil, just good ideas.
