They’re both Pearls. But one of these Morgan Group renderings is destined for a lot in Midtown; the other for Greenway Plaza. Can you tell which is going where?

OK, it’s an easy one. The geometrical juts and concrete slab-ish facades you can see above seem all-too-Midtown, don’t they? Morgan Group is planning the 5-story project for a 1.14-acre lot bound by Elgin, Smith, Louisiana, and Rosalie. (The other of their Pearl-brand buildings is set to open next month at 3788 Richmond.) The Pearl Midtown will be going in across the street from High Fashion Fabrics and Sushi Raku. Best of all, the Houston Business Journal reports, the apartments will be within “walking distance” of the northern end of the Midtown Superblock.

I think they’re well past the “planning” stages on the Midtown location.
Construction has already started on the midtown location.
Yeah, I went by there this weekend and they’ve excavated and already set rebar for the supports. Probably more too, but I just had a glance.
Is 5 stories now considered mid-rise? What’s all y’all’s definition of mid-rise?

(of a building) having a moderately large number of stories, usually five to ten, and equipped with elevators.
Looks like were on the “low end” of the definition. :)
They all look the same and pretty much like a place the three little pigs would have built.
Bring it on. Keep working on that area.
