If the 4 city lots this 1954 mod rancher property in the heart of Brookshire occupies aren’t enough space, adjacent properties are available, the $249K listing says. Located 2 blocks south of U.S. 90 (about 10 minutes west of Katy), the single-owner property appears to have stayed true to its times:
***
The low-and-lean home’s entry divides the living room (above) from the dining room. Both rooms feature (blurred) full-height picture windows at the front of the 3,613-sq.ft. floor plan:
Fruit-cluster wallpaper in the near-intact kitchen’s breakfast area breaks up the prevailing paneling (and shutters):
A pocket door rolls back for access to the utility room:
More pine paneling appears in the carpeted family room:
Nearby, lemon chiffon walls indicate the master suite, which begins with a sitting room:
The bedroom’s ceiling rises to a vault:
An accordion door on the closet parallels the vanity:
Two secondary bedrooms each have en suite bathrooms:
There’s a sun room at the back of the home. Its picture windows face the patio:
The lot takes up 28,000 sq. ft.

Nothing has changed since last time it was on Swamplot. http://swamplot.com/commute-back-in-time-to-a-275k-mod-rancho-deluxe-in-brookshire/2014-09-26/
that is fantastic. i wouldn’t change a thing. it would be like living in a TV set from happy days.
Wow. Even the TV set is retro.
West of Katy? Isn’t that Arizona?
They actually HAVE a TV set from the times of Happy Days in there…
i thought Brookshire was close to Austin?
“Rodney – go outside and turn the antenna! Channel 2 got bad.”
I fear that one day when I retire and sell my house, Swamplot will pick up the listing and do another “time stand still” caption.
Glitch in the Matrix?
That dining room is among the most fab I have ever seen. It’s perfectly designed.
Really, the whole house is great. They spent a boatload of money forty years ago and not a dime since, except on maintenance.
Looks like a Curtis Mathes television.
Aside from the finishings, that house is great.
Looks like it’s down a bit from the last time y’all showcased it – $26K.
The new price is a bad idea. If it was $250K, then it would catch the eye of folks searching for houses up to $250K in price, as well as folks searching for houses starting at $250K in price. A thousand bucks could mean that twice as many people would see the listing in HAR.com.
The dining room is flawless.
All of a sudden I have a craving for Lemon Chiffon pie!
