Comment of the Day: A Tall Tale of a Third Ward 6-Pack

COMMENT OF THE DAY: A TALL TALE OF A THIRD WARD 6-PACK Townhomes“I’m one of those townhouse dwellers in the Third Ward, and one of my six-pack neighbors got around the problem of obstructed views in a literal sense: She built an observation deck on top of her house that’s only accessible by a ladder. Good for views . . . bad for late-night, outdoor drinking.” [Evan, commenting on Comment of the Day: Jockeying for Position in Houston’S Vertical Future] Illustration: Lulu

  • Yo dawg, I heard you like six packs

  • The roof remains a great place to smoke weed on a breezy night. Your neighbor who normally would call the cops on you won’t smell it when it blows over their house, ad the guy who does end up smelling it a block over won’t be able to pinpoint where it’s coming from.

  • I can tell 3rd Ward is going downhill because people are hiding on the roof to smoke weed now. When I lived in 3rd Ward, we’d smoke joints on the way over to buy beer at the SunMart on Dowling. The SunMart was a good place to buy weed too, provided one’s standards were set appropriately (I imagine this is still, and will always be, the case)
