Highland Village Sprinkles

HIGHLAND VILLAGE SPRINKLES Sprinkles Cupcakes, The Original Cupcake Bakery, opens in Houston this winter at 4010 Westheimer in Highland Village. Let’s see, we have Sugar Baby’s, Crave and Ooh La La Dessert Boutique (they’re actually in Katy, TX, but it’s a suburb of Houston so we’ll count it) and now Sprinkles, the one who started the cupcake craziness in 2005 in Beverly Hills.” What’s next — Pinkberry? • Sugar Babys is still the best by far… they are doing something pretty unique, the cupcakes are great, and you can’t beat the atmosphere.

  • You THINK Sugar Baby….NO COMPARISON WHATSOEVER ON THE PLANET To “SPRINKLES” Pricey..BUT WAY WAY WAY WORTH IT!!! MELT IN YOUR MOUTH MOISTEST CUPCAKES EVER! NOBODY CAN REPRODUCE…NOT EVEN WHEN YOU BUY THE CANS IN WILLIAMS SONOMA TO MAKE YOURSELF.
    THERE ARE SO MANY FLAVORS!
A TIP..IF IT IS A SMALL PLACE…PHONE IN YOUR ORDER AHEAD OF TIME…THEN WALK IN AHEAD OF THE 100 PEOPLE STANDING IN LINE..ESP. DURING THE WEEKEND AND GRAB YOUR DOZEN AND OFF YOU GO!!! VANILLA WITH REAL VAN BEAN AND COCONUT FROSTING TO DIE FOR FRESH STRAWBERRY CAKE WITH FRESH STAWBERRY ICING…REDVELVET…ALL KINDS OF SPECIAL ONE TIME ONLYS. RED VELVET. BETTER THAN MAGNOLIA BAKERY CUPCAKES WITHOUT ANY DOUBT HANDSDOWN.
SPRINKLES RULES AND WILL ALWAYS BE SO.
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE BEST AND THE THE FRESHEST INGREDS EVER…WAIT UNTIL YOU TRY THE KEYLIME!!! CARROT CAKE…LEMON..THE LIST GOES ON! YOU HAVE TO GET IN EARLY AS THE BEST GOES FIRST;)

  • Sugarbabies-WAY too much frosting and too SWEET. Crave Cupcakes are excellent. The Nutella cupcake there is OUT of this world.
Will have to try Sprinkles. Didn’t know there was one in Houston.

  • Blech – I had one cupcake experience at Sugar Baby’s and that was enough. Too dry and not very flavorful. Crave cupcakes are incredible – I’ll be curious to see if Sprinkles can top those!

  • This will be interesting to see if Houston can support three cupcake boutiques within a few square miles of one another. I tried the Red Velvet at Sprinkles and really like it–we’ll see how they stack up on other choices. Sugarbabies has a fun atmosphere and offers other merchandise but I have found the service to be indifferent and the cupcakes on the dry side. Crave is efficient and fun to watch all those people making the cupcakes. Love their product.
