That was freaking me out too! I think the photographer stood within the doorway visible straight on, which was then filled in with some sort of brown texture. You can sort of tell if you bring up the large-size picture in the HAR listing. For once, someone who knows how to use Photoshop, and not for evil ;)

A friend owns a unit in this compound. Break-in occur and guns are drawn with frequency, from what I hear.
