A cul-de-sac in Woodside is exhibiting some fall color — in the golden tones of a 1955 Ranch home updated a decade ago. Or maybe that golden glow is from the skylights found in many of the rooms. Groomed ivy (appearing to end at the ivy clipper’s shoulder height) adds texture to the painted brick exterior, which is slightly recessed beneath the roof’s overhang. The home faces east on one of 6 lots fanning ’round Latma Ct., which is located off Latma Dr., a main street sloping diagonally through the neighborhood found east of Stella Link Rd. halfway between S. Braeswood Blvd. and the South Loop. In its listing a few days ago, the property-with-pool attached a $495K price tag and a very basic description. Is the midcentury property ripe for remuddling?

The listing calls this brick-floored step-up space the dining room (shown above and in the picture at the top of this story) and the paneled room the living room, where a fireplace tweak at some point has taken its stonework to the ceiling:
The 3,506-sq.-ft. floor plan includes a study with built-ins:
Skylights appear in many of the rooms. The one in the kitchen casts a spotlight on the punchy black-and-white tile . . .
while red accents zip along the side of the countertops — and finish out the cooktop’s alcove:
A pair of skylights shines up the master bedroom, which includes a designated sitting area:
More glow from above appears in the master bathroom:
There are 2 secondary bedrooms. This one, with windows on 3 sides, lands at the front of the home:
Maroon edging jazzes up the otherwise gray bathroom in the hallway:
A room adjacent to the kitchen adds some floor space beneath a half-vaulted ceiling and has glassy access . . .
to the poolscape, located on the west side of the 11,270-sq.-ft. lot:
- 9008 Latma Ct. [HAR]
I know where this is. I freakin’ love this neighborhood, and I like some of the people in it, too.
Good bones. First to go would be the partitions. Great house.
I hate that kitchen, but think that’s a good price for that many square ft/that location………
Neighborhood is freaking awesome, near a tear-down though.
