No, the lawn-parked Chevrolet Corvette in the sepia-filtered listing pic at the top of this post isn’t the result of a clumsy home-staging effort — it’s the prize that comes with your Woodforest Estates homebuying Happy Meal. Simply purchase this 2,488-sq.-ft. yellow-brick 2-story for the low low price of $138,500 (marked down from $142,500 earlier this month) and you’ll find this “awesome” Corvette in unidentified condition absolutely free in the box! Er, garage. Useful for shuttling family members, one at a time, to and from the home’s 7 bedrooms.
If this kind of Chevy-chasing carrot throw-in sounds vaguely familiar, that’s because it is: A similar deal for a Corvette Stingray with brick suburban home combo in Richmond at more than 3 times the price (pictured at left) was featured on Swamplot last month — and is still available. (No, it’s not the same car; that one was an older model convertible, though it appears to be a similar color.)

The Woodforest listing, which has been up since a few days after Christmas, offers few specs for either house or ‘Vette, but unless you’re a car collector, you probably needn’t worry that your bonus Chevy will reduce the parking available for your current fleet; the 9,416-sq.-ft. property comes with 2 garages (one attached and one detached), with room for 4 vehicles.

How do you pack 7 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms in a 2488 SF two story house? And the MLS listing shows the bedrooms a minimum of 12’x14′, which is pretty nice. The math doesn’t seem to add up here.
@RM – I’m confused as well. HCAD actually lists the property at 6 bedrooms but still: I don’t get how the math works either. My home is a bit over 1000 sq ft, and I have 2 bedrooms (13×12; 12×11) and 1 bath; no idea how they can still end up with 6 BR and 3.5 baths at less than 3000 sq ft.
Having to put the Corvette in the front yard on blocks myself is a dealbreaker.
What is the neighborhood like? It seems like a lot of house for cheap.
What’s with the odd instragram looking photos?
Is this area called North Shore? The gridded portion from I-10 to Woodforest Blvd looks run down, but the cul-de-sac neighborhoods north of Woodforest (where this listing is) remind me of the better kept-up parts of 77077 and 77043.
I didnt know Houston went that far east.. (joking)
That’s such a boring-looking house I’d understand why they’re throwing a car into the deal. :-)
